Lester Wolff to Deliver Special Address at Inaugural International Security Forum at Rutgers University

New Brunswick, NJ – The first annual International Security Forum at Rutgers University is pleased to announce that eminent foreign policy leader and former eight-term United States Congressman Lester Wolff will deliver a special address at the inaugural event on September 30, 2016. Antoni Macierewicz, the Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Poland, is the keynote speaker.

Congressman Wolff served as chairman of the Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Asia and the Pacific, and the Select Committee on Narcotics Abuse and Control. President Jimmy Carter appointed him as U.S. Representative to the 32nd Session of the United Nations General Assembly. In 2014, Congressman Wolff received America’s highest civilian award, the Congressional Gold Medal, on behalf of the Civil Air Patrol.

He is best known as the architect of the Taiwan Relations Act, and for helping establish formal diplomatic relations between the United States and the People's Republic of China. Congressman Wolff authored pivotal amendments to the Foreign Aid Bill, restoring direct peace talks between Israel and the Arab world. He also played a notable role in the signing of the Camp David Accords.

Cardinal Theodore E. McCarrick Joins ISF 2016 Organizing Committee

New Brunswick, NJ – The International Security Forum at Rutgers University announced today that Cardinal Theodore E. McCarrick, Archbishop Emeritus of Washington, will would be joining the ISF 2016 Organizing Committee as a Senior Advisor. Cardinal McCarrick has spent decades as a human rights advocate, frequently traveling worldwide to mediate conflicts, and resolve justice and peace issues.

Cardinal McCarrick served on the United States Commission for International Religious Freedom, a body of the U.S. federal government that provides independent policy recommendations to the President, the Secretary of State, and the Congress. He has been chancellor of the Catholic University of America, president of the governing boards of Seton Hall University, and is currently chair of the Catholic Relief Services Foundation. He was appointed a distinguished senior scholar at the Library of Congress, and presently serves as a councilor at the Center for Strategic and International Studies.

Antoni Macierewicz to Deliver Keynote Address at Inaugural International Security Forum at Rutgers University

New Brunswick, NJ – The first annual International Security Forum at Rutgers University announced today that Antoni Macierewicz, the Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Poland, will deliver the keynote address at the inaugural event on September 30, 2016 at the university's New Brunswick campus. Rutgers Law School Professor Jean-Marc Coicaud, Ph.D. and American Jewish Congress Chair Richard Gordon will also address the gathering. Jean-Marc Coicaud is a Professor of Law and Global Affairs at Rutgers Law School and has been a prominent United Nations official. He has published over 15 books, which are available in English, French, Japanese, Chinese, Spanish and Arabic. Richard Gordon is a lawyer and governmental strategist who spent the last decades as a senior advisor to presidential candidates, members of the United States Cabinet, attorneys general, comptrollers, treasurers and mayors.
